Artist Statement

Fine art has always been my top priority for career. So after my graduation in textile design I pursued learning calligraphy and painting with the help of my mentor Mr.Ejaz Yousafi. Over a period of eight months I learnt some fonts and painting techniques, while creating my own art style I had to keep a lots of things in mind. As per my choice was contrary to the modern art trends, I've always looked up to classical artists for learning. If I talk about my artworks they have a huge element of Islamic history. I believe that the history of Islamic era should be taught to our young generation. As an art and design student we were taught the history of Germans and Greeks and Romans. There might not be much people around me that know about the history of Islam and the art that Muslims created. The buildings that are standing since thousands of years are the proof of the glorious rule of Islam. But sadly some of them are closed and banned now. And the main reason is the lack of knowledge and the negligence of our young generation. I use khat e qairwani because its derived from old kufic which was the first font in which Quran Pak was written. I Took small parts from the buildings and tried to set relative ayat in it to make it look a single composition and enhance the diminishing beauty of these places. My work is a small contribution for the awareness of our youth.
